As part of the school initiative to increase the safety level in our school , The Safety department of the school had introduced a new Parallel Parking system that outlay new layout for the parking of the teacher’s car in the school’s compound. With the new system, the car would not have to reverse to exit . It is hope that with such initiative that it will increase the level of safety in the school. Special Thank you to our Headmaster, Assistant Headmaster and all the male teachers for making such system a reality.

Today, our school held staff development. With our invited guest from Malaysia, Che’man one of the main person for adi putra products especially in learning. During the staff development, he shared lots of insight and techniques in solving mathematical problems easily. It is hoped that such initiative will enable teachers to be open on multiple solutions which can be very easy for the students. Special thank you to Cikgu Hjh Safarina for preparing and arranging the sharing with the teachers.

In today’s morning assembly, our religious teacher, Ustazah Hjh Sharinawati shares her knowledge on the importance and benefits of practising the 3 ” Surah Kul” before sleeping. Students and teachers can be seen practising reading and motion in accordance to the recitation of the surah.

Today, our school received a visit from the ICT Department. We discuss and sit down together highlighting the progress of our ICT Development within the school and the upcoming projects ahead. It is good to hear that we are on the right track and being applauded for the initiatives being done. Meanwhile in the afternoon, we held a staff meeting together with our headmaster , discussing few issues on hand and sharing the informations from the visit earlier by the ICT Department.

To start off with our religious program this year, the students and teachers recite together surah Yasin and doa today. Tremendous improvements can be seen as students knows their routine by preparing the area and handing out Yasin to the teachers and students. In terms of their reading also can be heard as students are now more confidence and comfortable in reading it together.

This afternoon, we are also going to say our farewell to Mrs Carole Pettersson, CFBT teacher in our school who had teach English for our lower primary school children. As part of our Outreach Program, under joint collaboration between School’s ECA Department and the school’s PIBG, our school held Sukan Ria at our school’s field. 4 houses were created between the teachers, students and parent. Lots of activtities were prepared such as run in a sack, finding objects, rolling coconut using hockey stick and many more. One of the objective for the Sukan ria was to instill cooperations between the school’s communities and build up good rapport between teachers,parents and students.Other than trophy for the winning house, a special trophy was also given to the house camp which was creatively decorated.

SRKMM holds Prize Presentation Ceremony

23rd November 2011 – SR KG Mata-Mata, Gadong held a Prize ceremony for the best students that excel in each level and in the PSR examinations. This year we managed to get 1 student with 5 “A’s and 4 students with 4 ‘A’ s and 1 B with overall increase of 5% from the previous year. Our guest of honour , PPKD Brunei III, Hj Zakaria Bin Hj Duraman was feasted with multiple shows such as singing , dramatisation and many more. One of the highlight was also the prize ceremony for our project “Dynamic Class Competition” which were judged in 3 phases. Apart from the school prizes ,we are also fortunate to receive sponsored gifts from QQestore for the Main Prize winners in our project.

Bandar Seri Begawan – Kampong Mata-Mata Primary School emerged champion yesterday at the “Kumpulan Tunas Mekar” Competition (Powerpoint Presentation) held at the Dewan Raya, Radio Television Brunei (RTB) in the capital.The Amu Temburong Primary School and Tutong Kern Primary School groups also demonstrated promising potential after winning the first and second runners-up, respectively, ahead of five other schools that competed in the finals yesterday.In his opening remarks as chairman of the event’s organising committee, the Acting Head of the Career and Counselling Unit, Ali Yusri bin Abdul Ghafor said the competition was in line with the unit’s vision of producing talented students, and all-rounders who are capable of communicating and speaking in front of an audience.Present to hand over the prizes to the winners was the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Hj Awg Halbi bin Hj Md Yussof.The deputy minister in his speech applauded the Career and Counselling Unit at the Department of Schools, Ministry of Education for their effort in organising the event.”This competition serves as an initial practice to allow the participants to demonstrate their courage and ability to put across creative and innovative ideas in front of an audience, subsequently to explain those ideas in a clear and confident manner,” he said.”The initiative of introducing the use of Powerpoint Presentation tools for this competition is also a splendid idea as it has demonstrated the students’ ICT abilities.This early exposure will indeed prepare them for the Info-Communications challenges ahead of them.”Prior to the finals, a preliminary was held involving a total of 28 primary schools around the country.
